Monstera deliciosa var. sierrana spp. Two nodes, Two leaf cutting with actively popped axillary bud. Lightly rooted in soil.
This is a climbing variant of M. deliciosa with deeper, chunkier fenestrations and interior fenestrations appearing closer to the leaf's midrib. Fenestrations become deeper and increase in quantity with maturity. Our Sierrana propagations are thought to be the more common Brazilian form (as opposed to the Mexican/Hawaiian forms).
Carefully propagated at home by a single grower, this plant is cared for sustainably with the use of beneficial insects, mycorrhizal inoculation, and different strains of bacteria to help absorb nutrients, increase root growth and defend from pests.
These photos are of the exact plant available for purchase. This plant will ship in a 1 gal black nursery pot with chunky soil mix.
Care Tips:
- Place in bright, indirect light to encourage growth.
- Keep in well-draining soil that is allowed to dry out between regular waterings
- Thrives in warm (70F+, humid 40%+) environments but is easily acclimated to household conditions.
- Providing climbing support, like a moss pole, will help increase the rate of growth and dramatically increase leaf size.
